HotDocs from LexusNexus is a document automation program that uses your own documents as templates. It takes approved documents and lets you mark sections that you want to have customized for the specific recipient, replacing name and address, project title and date, for instance, while holding all other information the same.
Instead of being dependent on using copy-and-paste, search-and-replace techniques when you want to reuse a document, and having to trust to luck that every change is correct, HotDocs uses an interview process that guides you through the template creation process. When you need to assemble a document from a template, HotDocs presents an interactive interview that guides you through logically sequenced questions to gather all of the information required.
Using this information the HotDocs templates can automatically compute values, determine what text to include or exclude based on answers, change gender references, and even update verb tenses, generating flawless, individualized documents in a fraction of the time it takes to complete a search and replace in a word processor.
This program can be a valuable tool in combination with Sant Suite, especially when large amounts of complex and/or technical data must be presented in a customized fashion such as supporting material for a proposal.
HotDocs can create PDF documents as well as interactive PDF graphical forms. The program works with Windows Vista and Office 2007.
